Today's issue of Weekly Famitsu included a spread on the upcoming action-JRPG Utawarerumono Zan.

First of all, we get the introduction of three new playable characters, or two, if you will. They're Atui, and the Sarana/Uruuru pair, who will fight as one character with powerful spells.

The screenshots also show the series' traditional visual novel-like conversation scenes, but this time around they're in engine.

Missions have sub-objectives that grant additional rewards and experience if completed. The combat system includes fast combos with very few pauses, and special attacks, including some that can be unlocked by completing specific quests. Character-specific abilities can be improved by leveling up while equipping certain scrolls will grant party-wide effects.

You can enjoy all the screenshots below but do keep in mind that we're looking at magazine scans, so the quality is not as good as it could be.

If you want to see more, you can also enjoy the original reveal and the latest trailer.

Utawarerumono Zan is coming in Japan exclusively for PS4, on September 27th.
