It's not every day you see a trailer buck the norm for industry traditions. Way too often we see developers and publishers push stiff gameplay videos out to tease launch dates. But Nashville-based Wolfgame -- developing VA-11 HALL-A -- isn't just any publisher.

Unlike a typical release trailer, Wolfgame puts their Nashville roots to heart offering a re-imagining and re-orchestration of tracks from VA-11 HALL-A. Mixed with some overlaid shots of gameplay, the medley approach is a smart take that has made this launch trailer stand apart from a flurry of other indie titles. And trust me, VA-11 HALL-A's smooth jazz soundtrack should not be missed.

But what is VA-11 HALL-A? Developed by Sukeban Games in 2016, VA-11 HALL-A was a previous PC-exclusive cyberpunk, visual novel merger that had players take on the role of a bartender. Taking place in a dystopian future, protagonist Jill is much less a main player in the world drama so much as a somber listener of other's problems. Of course, that's not to say there aren't some inventive SHMUP aspects of the game.

Thankfully, the critically-acclaimed title will also be making its way to the PlayStation Vita in a little under two weeks. According to the release trailer (below), the game is due to arrive on November 14, 2017 in North America.

As mentioned, VA-11 HALL-A is currently available on PC (and PlayStation Vita in Japan). Check out the launch reveal trailer, below:
