Today Sega released a brand new story trailer of the upcoming JRPG Valkyria: Azure Revolution, that will be released in Japan on January 19th for PS4 and PS Vita.

The trailer focuses on Brunhild, the titular valkyria, who is alson nicknamed the "Shinigami" (god of death) due to the cloak and mask that she often uses to disguises herself. She will often appear to bar the path of the player during the game, not just during key story moments, but also during normal missions.

Learning to fight such a formidable enemy is one of the main themes of the game, alongside the rivalry between Brunhild and Princess Ophelia, who apparently is the only one that can counter the dreads powers of the valkyria with her songs.

You can also find another recent  trailer here, showing the foundation of Amleth’s anti-valkyria unit Vanargand. An extensive chunk of gameplay was also recently livestreamed by Sega.

If you want to see more of Brunhild herself, you can enjoy a video showing how I beat her in the demo, in my own full-resolution gameplay.
