Valkyria Chronicles 2 Finally Confirmed

A few months ago, a PSP sequel to Valkyria Chronicles was leaked in Famitsu magazine.  Of course, many would consider that confirmation in and of itself, but there was no official press release from Sega or Sony on the topic.  Until now.  Its been officially confirmed that there is indeed a sequel to this must-play 2008 PS3 strategy RPG.  The sequel will be on the PS3’s little brother, the PSP.  It will sport the same gorgeous visuals and the same unique game play that the original title had and will pick up where that game left off.

Its really a shame Valkyria Chronicles was released in the heart of the fall gaming season last year, as it flew under the radar of most gamers, even RPG fans, and didn’t sell as well as it should have.  Its probably one of the best RPGs on any system this generation and a definite “must play” in my book.

Look for Valkyria Chronicles 2 to grace our PSPs here in North America – likely on either UMD format or digital title – in 2010 (its out this winter in Japan).  Long live Gallia!
