Valkyria Chronicles was hailed by many as a gem in the PS3 library, but it was also seen as a rather niche game. Word of mouth, though, is a powerful thing, and the popularity of the game has apparently grown even among those that couldn’t play it, and the recent PC release seems to be doing definitely well.
The game has just launched yesterday, and it’s steadily dominating the steam top sellers chart, as you can see at the bottom of the post.
And it isn’t even a slow period, with Assassin’s Creed Unity soundly beaten and a massively discounted Enslaved: Odyssey to the West left behind as well.
The optimist in me would hope for Sega to finally notice the value of the Valkyria Chronicles franchise, and give us a western release of Valkyria Chronicles III and maybe a real new Valkyria game (IE: not a crappy card game that has really nothing to do with the original strategy RPGs) on a proper platform, but unfortunately the optimist in me is also quite the dreamer…
