Valkyria Revolution Has Some Rather Naughty Dialogue According to the ESRB

Valkyria Revolution promises a rather realistic representation of war, and some naughty dialogue.

Despite its fantasy-ish setting, the Valkyria series hasn’t pulled punches on some rather strong depictions of wartime violence  (possibly more than many games set in the real world), and the upcoming Valkyria Revolution doesn’t seem to be an exception.

That being said, the ESRB reports in the rating released today that there’s also some rather naughty dialogue included in the game, so the easily offended should probably prepare themselves mentally.

Content Descriptors: Blood, Language, Sexual Themes, Use of Alcohol, Violence

Rating Summary:This is an action/role-playing game in which players control soldiers involved in a conflict between two fictional kingdoms. Characters engage in combat missions and use swords, guns, grenades, and magic attacks to defeat soldiers and boss characters. Some attacks result in small splashes of blood; cutscenes occasionally depict larger splashes of blood, as when a character is impaled on a sword or slashed. Battles are highlighted by realistic gunfire, cries of pain, and explosions.

The game includes some sexual material in the dialogue: “She was a real nympho, that one. She was one hell of a sl*t”; “Be it the bouncing of buxom bosoms or the subtle splendor of smaller sets”; “…a woman’s beauty presents itself fully in her rear!” Several scenes depict characters drunk/hung over and/or talking about alcohol (e.g.,“I haven’t had enough to drink yet! Alcohol! Bring on the alcohol!”). The words “sh*t” and “a*shole” appear in dialogue.

Despite the colorful language and interesting description of anatomy, the game still retained a T rating, so if you’re thirteen or up, you’ll be fine, unless you’re easily offended, of course.

Valkyria Revolution will release for PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita in North America on June 27th and in Europe on June 30th. You can check out the latest trailer and the Vanargand Edition here.
