Today Compile Heart released the first gameplay video of its upcoming JRPG Valneer of the Dragon Star.

The video includes about ten minutes of PS4 gameplay showing the basics of combat, which is turn-based and includes three levels of height across which the characters can battle. We also get to see the Dragon Awakening that sharply increases the power of a character.

Of course, we also get to see plenty of the game’s main theme, which focuses on waifus and dragons. It’s a Compile Heart game after all, so it should come really at no surprise.

You can check it out below, alongside a few screenshots and artwork. If you want to see more, you can also check out a previous batch of screenshots, an earlier gallery, and the first trailer.

Valneer of the Dragon Star will be released in Japan exclusively on PS4 on October 11th. For the moment, a western release has not been announced, but since Idea Factory International brings west almost everything Compile Heart makes, the chances are pretty good.
