VALORANT players are now looking forward to the release of Episode 5, which will feature the much-awaited 'Pearl' map. The upcoming Act will also give us a brand new Battle Pass and new weapon skins. However, there won't be any new agent in Episode 5 Act 1. But fortunately, Riot Games is cooking something else for the new season.

Currently, there are eight ranks or divisions in Valorant - Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Immortal, and Radiant. However, the developers are giving us a new rank, Ascendant. As reported by

" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ValorLeaks on Twitter, Ascendant will be the new rank that'll be placed between Diamond and Immortal. Similar to other ranks in the game, we can expect three levels in Ascendant. So, players will have to grind the game for one more rank to reach Immortal.

Of course, it's exciting that Riot Games is working to make Valorant more challenging for players. The devs gave an official statement to explain the motivation behind launching a new rank. "We believe our lower ranks have a few too many of you, especially Bronze and Silver. When we were looking at rank distribution, we realized that if we were to move some of you up and out of those lower ranks, it would overpopulate Platinum and Diamond. So by adding a new rank, we can better distribute you across ranks, keep the prestige of high ranks while helping better define the skill level of each rank," said Riot.

The new competitive "Ascendant" rank will launch with Valorant Episode 5 Act 1, which is scheduled to start on June 22nd, 2022. Along with that, players will get three new skin bundles as part of the battle Pass - Shimmer, Spitfire, and Task Force 809. Apart from that, the 'Prelude to Chaos' premium bundle is coming out with the next update. The weapon skin bundle will include weapon skins for Shorty, Vandal, Stinger, Operator, and Melee knife.
