Valorant is a competitive shooter where your familiarity with the maps, agent abilities, and, most importantly, your aim are the major factors that'll help you improve and maybe reach Radiant. However, even if you are spending several hours focusing on the above factors, you still might not improve if you're not choosing the right in-game settings. If that's the case, you'll keep on lurking around low ELO lobbies for a long, long time.

In-game Valorant Settings For Better FPS

Valorant

Riot Games provides several settings options for Valorant that players can change to their liking. However, not choosing the right in-game settings can very well affect the game's performance, as some players mistakenly prioritize quality over performance. So, here we've listed down the best in-game settings for Valorant.

These settings will optimize players' frames per second (FPS) in Valorant, a crucial consideration in any shooter.

Resolution

Native

If you have a powerful system, don't compromise Hz for resolution. For instance, if you get 144Hz at 1920 by 1080, go with that instead of 2560 by 1440.

If you have a budget PC, go with the 5:4 ratio instead of 16: 9 or 4: 3. 1280 × 1024 is the only resolution offering that ratio, which is popular among CSGO and Valorant players as it provides stretched crosshair and more focus to the center. Also, it's important to mention that the 5:4 ratio will significantly improve the in-game FPS.

Limit FPS Always

On

This will prevent players' GPUs from overexerting themselves to create more frames.

Max FPS Always

Appropriate for their system

The best thing to do is to see the maximum resolution that is equivalent to the Hz rate of your monitor.

NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency

ON, On+Boost

It will greatly reduce in-game lag, which will, in turn, improve your response time in the game.

Low quality makes the UI background clear, which doesn't necessarily improve the gameplay.

Vignette

Keeping it on darkens the corners of a player's screen, which isn't crucial for a better gameplay experience.

VSync

Keep it on if you get screen tearing issues.

If the aim is compromised due to the jaggedness of corners, turn it to MSAA 2x.

Best PC Settings For Valorant

valorant retro game bundle

While the in-game settings greatly affect the performance and the FPS, choosing the right PC settings outside of the game is also crucial for a smooth Valorant experience. So, here are all the required PC settings to get better FPS and an improved and faster mouse performance.

Digital Vibrance

Valorant: Killjoy Watches A Corner On Ascent With A Vandal

Adjusting digital vibrance will make it so that the colors on players' monitors pop and enemies are more noticeable. Here's how to tweak this setting.

  • Right-click on the desktop.
  • NVIDIA: Nvidia Control Panel. AMD: AMD Radeon Software.
  • NVIDIA: Display section. AMD: Gaming.
  • NVIDIA: Select Adjust Desktop Color Settings. AMD: Go to Display under Gaming.
  • NVIDIA: There will be a Digital Vibrance slider that should be boosted by around 70%. AMD: Players need to Enable Custom Color and set the Saturation to their liking.

Mouse Acceleration

Sage In Valorant Watches Mid On The Split Map

Turning off mouse acceleration will make the cursor move based on the distance players move it and the DPI that they've set their mouse to. Without this setting, PCs are prone to erratically determining how fast they think a player's mouse "should" be going, often causing unpredictable changes in mouse DPI.

  • Go to the Windows search bar.
  • Type Mouse Settings.
  • Go to Related Settings

This will only appear if your Mouse Settings window is large enough, so make sure to increase its size if you don’t see it.

  • Click on Additional Mouse Options.
  • Once the Mouse Properties window opens up, click on Pointer Options.
  • Ensure that Enhance Pointer Precision is unchecked. This is the setting that affects mouse acceleration.

High DPI Scaling

Omen In Valorant On The Map Bind Watches Heaven With Ghost

This will make players' aim more precise. Needless to say, this is another huge priority for experienced players, as well as those who are just starting out.

  • Search Windows for File Explorer.
  • Search Valorant in File Explorer to find where Valorant is installed.
  • Find the Valorant.exe application and right-click on it.
  • Click on Properties.
  • Click the Compatibility tab.
  • Click on Change High DPI settings.
  • Make sure the "Override high DPI scaling behavior" option is checked and performed by the Application.
