Valve Delays Release of their Steam Machine Controller to 2015

Valve has been working hard on creating a controller for their Steam Machines. While they would like to get this controller into the hands of gamers as soon as possible, they know that they need to get it right first. Because of this, the company has decided that “realistically” the controller won’t see the light of day until 2015.

“Obviously we’re just as eager as you are to get a Steam Machine in your hands. But our number one priority is making sure that when you do, you’ll be getting the best gaming experience possible,” said Valve’s Eric Hope in an update on the Steam Community page. “We hope you’ll be patient with us while we get there. Until then, we’ll continue to post updates as we have more stories to share.”

This is obviously a good move on Valve’s part. It’s better that a company take their time with a product (whether it be a game peripheral or game) than rush it into the market before it’s been fully tested.

Valve will have more updates on the controller and their Steam Machine in the future. As always, we’ll keep you updated when news breaks.
