In a recent statement from Paradox Interactive's CEO, Ebba Ljungerud, she said that she doesn't think Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 would launch in the first half of 2021.

Revealed earlier in 2019, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced various difficulties in development process so far, from challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic to losing some of the key people behind the story of the game. After getting delayed for two times, now it seems the game won't be ready to launch until the second half of 2021.

At first, the game was targeting an early 2020 launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but then the game was delayed to later 2020 and the developers confirmed that they would launch the game on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 as well. However, the game was delayed once again to an unknown date in 2021. While the increased number of target platforms might add up to the load of work that has to be done before launch, the sudden removal of the game's Creative Director and Lead Narrative Designer from the project later in August 2020 put more pressure on the development studio. The project found its new Narrative Designer later in October this year, while no one has taken the role of Creative Director yet.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a direct sequel to 2004's Bloodlines, which was a brand new RPG experience in various aspects. Playing as a low-life vampire, you will get to choose your clan in Bloodlines 2, based on the disciplines and abilities that fit into your play-style better. Set in the nights of Seattle, you will encounter with various characters in the game from different clans, and based on your own clan, you will have some difficulties on the streets.

Bloodlines 2 is not the only game from the Vampire: The Masquerade franchise that is under development. Nacon is also working on another RPG set in the same universe called Vampire: The Masquerade: Swansong.
