Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Won’t Be Crossing Over With Upcoming Games Set in the Same Universe

Bloodlines 2 seems to be its own game separate from any other upcoming titles set in the world of Vampire: The Masquerade.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is likely the most notable video game coming up that’s set within the iconic World of Darkness universe, but it’s not the only one. After the announcement of Bloodlines 2 earlier this year, two new Vampire: The Masquerade games were announced with Coteries of New York and a still-untitled project from Bigben Interactive. While there are a lot of Vampire: The Masquerade games coming down the road though, it doesn’t seem like they’ll really intertwine with one another, at least in the case of Bloodlines 2.

Recently when speaking to some of the team behind Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 at E3 2019, we asked if all of these upcoming games would happen to cross over with one another. According to Rachel Leiker, the Lead UI/UX Designer on Bloodlines 2, that’s not in the plans for the team at Hardsuit Labs working on their game.

Bloodlines 2 is its own thing, basically. We’re only focused on doing our story for Bloodlines,” Leiker told us. “We’re not really aware, I guess, of the other stuff. We’re just hyper-focused on what we’re doing for Bloodlines.”

This isn’t all that much of a surprise to hear from the team working on Bloodlines 2. The Bloodlines sub-series within the Vampire: The Masquerade world is easily the most popular of the bunch and many fans, I assume, would probably prefer it if it stayed separate from anything else that Paradox may be working on with the franchise. Still, it’s nice to have clarification that Bloodlines 2 indeed won’t be associated with any upcoming titles, at least for now.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to launch in March 2020 and will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Keep an eye out in the coming days if you want to read our full interview with the team behind the project.
