Vampyr’s E3 Trailer Explores the Morals of a Vampire, and Blood Sucking

Developer of Life is Strange, Dontnod, has released a new trailer for its upcoming action RPG, Vampyr.

In the game you play as World War I veteran Doctor Jonathan Reid as he has tries to get to grips with his transition into a blood-sucking vampire.

Vampyr has a level-up system that plays on this narrative conundrum; huge amounts of experience points can be gained by feeding off of innocent people. As a doctor, you have to decide how many lives to sacrifice in order for you to find a cure for this “disease” you have succumbed to.

Set in London, in Vampyr, if you kill too many people it may cause a district’s infrastructure to collapse. Every life has a butterfly effect on the other NPCs around them.

“a merchant’s wife could be killed and he could decide to close shop and leave town. Every life you take away will have consequences for the city and the people around them: Cursed be the choice!”

Vampyr is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. You can check out the bloody trailer down below.

Bad at video games, decent at writing.
