Grid-based steampunk dungeon crawler Vaproum is being ported to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for release in April, with each console having its own release date.

Vaporum comes to PlayStation 4 first on April 9, 2019, Xbox One on April 10, and Nintendo Switch on April 11, 2019 for $29.99 USD. Vaporum comes from developer Fatbot Games and publisher Merge Games. Fatbot Games originally released Vaporum on Steam on September 28, 2017 with very positive review consensus from 360 players. It was the only game Fatbot Games has developed, with publisher Merge Games having also helped publish Riot: Civil Unrest, Aragami Shadow Edition, Dead Cells, Moonlight, and many other indie games.

Players will control their character in first person as they engage in real-time combat against a variety of foes, each with strengths, weaknesses, attack, and defense mechanisms that will require different tactics to defeat. Each weapon will have a unique bonus and the exoskeleton rig you wear gives a bonus to different gadgets, whether it be for direct attacks, area attacks, and buffs. Certain enemies will have immunity to your abilities, ensuring the player cannot just mash their way through the game. In addition to combat players will also have to solve puzzles in order to progress through the dungeons. As you progress you won't be leveling up your character but instead improving the exo-rig you wear by choosing between four types of rigs available. Different gadgets give you different abilities and can be swapped on the fly, while circuits are more permanent increases or passive skills to help you.

Developers Fatbot games draw heavy inspiration from Dungeon Master (1988), Eye of the Beholder (1991), and the more recent Legend of Grimrock (2012), all first person dungeon crawlers.

Vaporum is a grid-based dungeon crawler RPG in an original steampunk setting, inspired by old-school classics of the genre. Stranded in the middle of an ocean, in front of a gigantic tower, the hero has to find out what the place is, what happened there, and most importantly, who he is.
