Velocity Ultra, a FuturLab’s remake of the PlayStation Mini shooter Velocity, will release July 2 for PlayStation Vita.

Originally released last year as part of the PlayStation Minis, Velocity Ultra is a vertically scrolling shooter with a unique teleportation mechanic which allows players to dart around the screen at will. Players are also equipped with teleportation pods, allowing them to explore alternate pathways and return to earlier points within each level in order to rescue survivors.

Velocity Ultra features new touchscreen-based gameplay mechanics, along with trophy support (including a Platinum trophy), PSN leaderboards and a new, cartoon-inspired art style created to match the PS Vita’s resolution. It will also run at 60 frames-per-second on Sony’s handheld, where it will sell through the PlayStation Network for $7.99.
