Why The Resident Evil: Village Demo is Genius

Open world horror, as shown off in the Resident Evil: Village demo, gives players the chance to explore a creepy environment filled with monsters at their own pace. It's a big departure from the more claustrophobic, linear gameplay in Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, but based on the thirty-minute chunk of gameplay offered up in the demo, it appears that the developers at Capcom have found a way to make player freedom feel tense and unnerving. Obviously the big thing that Resident Evil fans (and the internet in general) are looking forward to from Resident Evil: Village is Lady Dimitrescu, the giant vampire lady. As she's notably absent from this latest demo, it gave players a chance to see what else the game has in store. As it turns out, there's a lot of compelling plot twists and turns.
