Kalypso Media and Games Farm announced today that its brutal action-RPG Vikings - Wolves of Midgard has received a free update across all available platforms, bringing a couch co-op mode to the game.

As a result of the update made available today, gamers can now play Vikings - Wolves of Midgard alongside a friend on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game, perhaps offering some kind of hope to get through the waves of horrific undead, rival clans, and frost giants this world holds.

However, that’s not all! In addition to the inclusion of a couch co-op mode, the update has brought some major changes to Vikings - Wolves of Midgard’s New Game + mode, enabling the ability for players to bring their items into a new game while also increasing the difficulty.

The update has also brought a ‘stash’ to the game’s village hub, which allows item access to all of a player’s characters, as well as the ability to share items with fellow players during multiplayer sessions.

Various additional changes have been made as a result of the update, such as improvements to the Trial of the Gods, new effects for legendary items, talisman changes, adjustments to several boss fights, and a plethora more to features like performance and stability. For a full breakdown of what changes have been made to Vikings - Wolves of Midgard, check out the official patch notes as provided on the Kalypso Media Forums.

Vikings – Wolves of Midgard takes players into the historical world of the Vikings and their mythology. The Jotan, a horde of undead from Ragnarok must be vanquished, but players will have more than that to deal with before the game is over. The whole of Ragnarok may just be coming down.

Vikings – Wolves of Midgard is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more information on the game, you can visit Kalypso Media’s official website.
