War of the Worlds Hits XBL Marketplace Today

The Patrick Stewart-narrated video game adaptation of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds hits the Xbox Live Marketplace today, giving 360 owners the chance to finally run for their lives during an invasion of 1950s London.

You can draw parallels to War of the Worlds’ gameplay with that of the 16-bit Aladdin games or Prince of Persia, but those titles didn’t let you lay the smack down on alien drones with a metal rod, did they?

Other Oceans’ alien adventure will set you back 800 Microsoft Points (or $10 in American Earth currency) and we’re told the game will see a PlayStation Network and PC release in the near future. Check out the launch trailer after the jump and make sure to check back here for our review.
