I still vividly remember exactly where I was when (spoilers for a game that came out in 2002) Arthas made the heel turn to end all heel turns and murdered the entirety of Stratholm in Warcraft 3. I was on summer vacation at my cousin's house. We were spending the week switching between blasting through Blizzard's latest RTS and dominating the kids of Backyard Baseball. It's one of the video game moments that felt so earth-shattering at the time that I don't think I'll ever forget it. I can almost taste the Surge I was surely drinking when Arthas ran his blade through his father, King Terenas. So, when it was announced that Blizzard was working on a remake of the classic RTS, you can imagine how excited I was. The Warcraft series was a major part of my gaming experience growing up. Having the chance to replay it with gorgeous new visuals is a dream come true. Originally, Warcraft 3: Reforged was set to come out this year, but today, Blizzard announced that the game has been delayed to January 2020.

For me, this delay is fine. Warcraft 3 is far from a perfect RTS, but it's among my favorites. If they need an extra month or two to polish out all the bugs, they can have it. I mean, we've waited this long, right? Plus, the end of January is a pretty dead time in terms of video game releases for next year. That should give the release room to breath.

Warcraft 3: Reforged releases on PC on January 28. Blizzard is selling a deluxe edition which includes content for all of their games. So, if you play several of their titles and are looking for some new cosmetics, that might be the version for you.
