In a post on the PlayStation Blog, developer Digital Extremes is bringing Warframe to the PlayStation 5 this year. The developer also provided details on future content coming to the game.

The PlayStation 5 version will include faster load times, dynamic lighting, and gameplay up to 4K and 60FPS. It’ll also support the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. For PS4 players, you can transfer your progress over to the PS5 version. Additionally, the game supports cross-play between the PS4 and PS5 versions.

In another PlayStation Blog post, we also received new details on upcoming content coming to Warframe. The game will get a new expansion this month called Deimos: Arcana. This expansion will include new mechs and other updates that’ll be announced closer to launch. Additionally, Digital Extremes mentions that a new war will be coming to the game at a later date. Additionally, there are boosters packs that PlayStation Plus members can get for free to give you an advantage. PlayStation players will also get 100,000 credits, 100,00 premium credits, a seven-day experience booster, and a seven-day currency booster.

“For those of you who haven’t been with us since our humble beginning at the launch of PS4, you’ll be able to enjoy seven years’ worth of player-driven development including new Warframes, Cinematic Quests and Open Worlds,” said Douglass Perry, PR director at Digital Extremes. “Maybe you haven’t played Warframe in a while. In that case we’ve added more, improved more and we’ve even remastered some fan favorites as well as developing and releasing fan-made content in-game. Regardless of when you last played, now is the best time to return. We are locked, loaded and ready to roll with Deimos: Arcana, the extension of the most recent update, Heart of Deimos.”

Warframe is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available later this year. Stay tuned to DualShockers for more next-gen coverage.
