Warframe is Heading to PS5 on Thanksgiving Day

Digital Extremes has confirmed that Warframe is coming to PS5 this week, with the Xbox Series X/Series S version to follow at a later date.

Warframe has long been established as one of the most popular multiplayer games right now, with the game continuing to grow a huge playerbase across consoles and PC. Thanks to its continued updates and new expansions, Warframe has evolved considerably over the last seven years since its launch, with the title taking its next step for the future on next-gen hardware.

Developer Digital Extremes has announced that Warframe will officially be heading to PS5 on November 26, 2020, bringing the long-running multiplayer game to next-gen hardware. The game is also planned to arrive on Xbox Series X/Series S in the future, but the studio didn’t confirm a launch date for the game on those platforms just yet.

According to Digital Extremes, the PS5 version of Warframe will offer support for both 4K resolution and 60fps along with dynamic lighting and reduced loading times. Additionally, the studio also confirmed that the PS5 version will make use of the DualSense controller’s features like the Adaptive Triggers to “make each melee weapon swing or trigger pull feel much more impactful.” Cross-save and cross-play will also be supported between both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the title.

In the announcement, Digital Extremes detailed that PS5 players with a subscription to PlayStation Plus will also be able to pick up a free booster pack that includes a PS5-themed Obsidian Sedai Syandana, weeklong boosters for Affinity and credits, 100,000 in-game credits, and 100 Platinum to get you started. Additionally, to celebrate the game’s 7th anniversary, anyone that logs in to the game on PS4 or PS5 will be able to get a special anniversary pack with bonus items and more.

Warframe is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with the game coming to PS5 on November 26, 2020 and Xbox Series X/Series S at a later date.
