Danny Bilson (THQ's vice president) confirmed in an Eurogamer interview that the upcoming MMORPG developed by Vigil Games and based on the popular Warhammer 40,000 universe will be finally playable at next year's E3 and will be released during the next fiscal year, between April 2012 and March 2013.

Bilson, a self-professed "big MMORPG guy", having played extensively titles like Dark Age of Camelot, World of Warcraft, Everquest and City of Heroes, promises that the game is going to be special, and will compete on equal footing against WoW and Star Wars: the Old Republic.

The interview includes another interesting snippet: players won't be able to play a Space Marine right from the outset and Bilson seems to suggest that this limitation will be determined by the lore behind the game. This might mean that the player will begin as a recruit and then will have to climb his way through the ranks of the chapter scouts as his body grows and mutates (Space Marines have two hearts), before finally becoming a full fledged Bolter and Chainsword-wielding Space Marine.
