Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Devs Challenge Gears of War

on August 29, 2011 4:30 PM

If you read my demo impressions of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, you already know that the game openly shuns the cover mechanic featured in prominent third person shooters, like the Gears of War series, that otherwise has some quite visible points in common with the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Space Marine, THQ published a poster that says “Cover is for the weak”, clearly declaring the superiority of the Space Marines (™ with a capital S and a capital M) over the space marines (lowercase s and m)  like Marcus Fenix and colleagues.

If you agree, and want to hang the poster on your wall, all you need to do is to click on the picture to get the full resolution version and print it.

Looks like THQ has decided to stick closely to the philosophy behind Space Marine, and instead of taking cover against the Gears of War 3 giant (that some say might overshadow Space Marine‘s release), they are proudly looking for a direct confrontation.

Post Scriptum: I agree.
