The Warhammer universe is massive and filled with countless monsters for you to slay. For their upcoming franchise entry Warhammer: Chaosbane, the teams at Eko Software and Bigben Interactive have dug into the archives and pulled out over 70 different monsters that will make up their hordes. The two teams give a peak into what it takes to make great Warhammer enemies in the video below.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is an action RPG in the vein of Diablo 3. You'll take on throngs of monsters as one of four hero classes, hacking and slashing your way through iconic Warhammer locations. To really make an aRPG like Chaosbane sing, the developers need to have interesting and varied enemy design.

As you can see in the video above, this is something the team is taking to heart. Taking monsters from the Warhammer universe and then kitting them out with cool abilities is an obvious focus. The devs want to test your combat prowess, but equally want everything to fit the universe. That partnership between design and art is paramount and something Bigben and Eko seem to be taking seriously.

Of course, the monsters shouldn't get to have all the fun. The team is promising over 180 different skills will be in play for the various character classes. Combine that high number of options with 70+ baddies and co-op teammates and you have a recipe for fun.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 4, 2019. Grab a few friends and your battleaxe for what is hopefully going to be a chaotically good time.
