The Warhammer Vermintide Twitter account has been busy teasing Vermintide 2's upcoming expansion, The Winds of Magic. Today, they gave us a glimpse of a new monster for the game: the Minotaur.

Minotaurs are a staple of the "Beastmen" faction in the Warhammer universe. However, the Beastmen will be an entirely new enemy type for Vermintide 2, and they will arrive with the Winds of Magic expansion. Their tribe will be represented by infantry units, elites, specials, monsters, and bosses. And though the tweet mentions that this is a "big bad boss," the Minotaur profiles more as a monster, alongside the likes of the Rat Ogre and the Bile Troll. The "bosses" of the game are named characters, like Burblespue Halescourge. As of now, no beastmen have been called out by name by the developers, nor have we seen a second monster-class enemy from the Beastmen faction. In addition to the new faction, the Winds of Magic expansion will also feature eight--you guessed it--magic winds that will affect and modify the map. This weekend, the Vermintide Twitter account also inventoried each of these winds in detail. And yes, in doing so, they careful tread the Warhammer line: corny yet somehow still unbelievably awesome. Check out what they had to say about a couple of these winds below. Vermintide 2 is already a crazy game. It blends traditional RPG elements with first-person shooter mechanics, it has unique, funny characters and memorable enemies, and it's set in the most over-the-top fantasy setting imaginable. With the Winds of Magic, though, you'll receive a higher difficulty level, more unpredictability, and even a player-versus-player game mode. That's right, you'll soon be able to play as the Skaven and Chaos Warriors yourself. The expansion will also provide each hero with a new weapon type, and it will add a new map to the game. It's going to be nuts. The developer, Fat Shark, has confirmed that the substantial Winds of Magic expansion will release sometime this August.
