While PlatinumGames' Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was a welcome breath of fresh air to the action genre in 2013, not much like it has come out since. Serbian indie developer Clock Drive Games is hoping to follow in that Konami title's footsteps with their own original action game Warlander. While the dark fantasy title was previously only slated for PC, Clock Drive Games confirmed today that it will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One as well.

According Goran Rajsic, Creative Director at Clock Drive Games, the developer decided to bring Warlander to console because they took note of how well titles like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance played on consoles and wanted to bring their experience to as many players as possible. “The games we drew inspiration from, such as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, played beautifully on console so we’re aiming to bring that same rich and premium experience to the players,” Goran said specifically.

When it comes to gameplay, Warlander puts a keen focus on swordplay, which is precise and benefits from satisfying ragdoll physics. The game is also set to feature some RPG customization elements like three skills trees for varied gameplay styles. Goran Rajsic claims that "with deep RPG mechanics and incredibly smooth combat mechanics, Warlander will be a title with tons of replay value for our fans," as well.
