While Mortal Kombat X may not launch until next year following its official reveal at this year’s E3 2014, Warner Bros. still seems eager to tell its fans “GET OVER HERE!!!” with a newly-announced live-action series to compliment the game’s release.
In a press release sent out by Warner Bros., the studio confirmed that a new Mortal Kombat live-action series will be under production in collaboration with Blue Ribbon content, the new digital series production branch of Warner Bros.
No other details gave a specific release timeframe or details, though the press release did mention that the series will show “some of the franchise’s most storied characters, while introducing a new generation of fighters” coming in Mortal Kombat X. The series also does not seem to include ties to the previously-released and popular YouTube production, Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
Mortal Kombat X will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14th, 2015.
