While we've known Koei Tecmo and Omega Force were planning on releasing Musou crossover game Warriors Orochi 4 in the west for some time, the game was without a western release date until today. Warriors Orochi 4 is releasing on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in North America on October 16th and in Europe on October 19.

The Japanese version of the game is poised to arrive a few weeks earlier on September 27. Following Warriors Orochi 4's appearance at E3, the developers also divulged more details on gameplay features, including the new magic system and return of split screen co-op.

Warriors Orochi 4 will contain 170 playable characters, with many of them pulled from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series. To help each character stand out, brand new Magic abilities have been added to the game. These attacks are both visually impressive and powerful, and are powered by mysterious Sacred Treasures gifted to each warrior.

When it comes to co-op, two players can choose teams of three characters and fight hordes of enemies in most of the game's levels. Players will also be able to link together their magic attacks to create some truly devastating blows.
