While we all know that hands-on experience is the best way to learn something new, having a bit of guidance certainly helps! This list will go over some fantastic tips and tricks for both beginners and veterans alike.

10 Drop In Like It's Hot

Knowing where to drop is only going to come with experience, but locating which POIs work best for you is gravely important to every player. Some players thrive in hot-drop areas, using the onslaught of early engagements as momentum for the rest of the match!

On the other hand, it sometimes pays to play slowly, landing in a less crowded area and looting as you progress. Unfortunately, this is often not a great way to play as it leaves you unready for the next fight, while opponents are warmed up and accurate. Nonetheless, figure out which locations work best for you personally and stick with it!

9 Forget Your Old Ways

Many fans of the original Warzone are surprised to find that many of their old strategies aren't quite as viable in the sequel. The heartbeat sensor, for example, was once the meta, acting as a portable UAV that practically every player ran with. Now, the heartbeat sensor is a lot less useful, and you will be much better off with any other tactical.

Fitting hand-in-hand, Ghost is no longer as important as it used to be. Upgraded buy stations limit the amount of UAVs that can be purchased, meaning they are much less common. It is recommended to utilize an alternative perk that will further benefit you further. Learn the new strategies!

8 The Circle(s)

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Three Circles On Map

One of the strangest alterations that Warzone 2.0 introduced was the concept of merging circles. Now, instead of only a single circle slowly shrinking, there are 3 small circles that all combine into one, creating a final zone. Whether this change is good or not is up to the individual, but it is a vital change to recognize.

This tends to result in a bit more action in the mid-game as players are sectioned off and forced to fight. If you see three safe-zones spawn in, be sure to position yourself properly because this means that all players are going to be running in the same direction - towards the center of all 3.

7 Crack Safes

Completing contracts is an absolute must for any player that wants to have a hefty in-game networth. Consider landing out of the plane directly onto a contract to put yourself on track for a fantastic match ahead!

The current list of contracts includes Bounty, Safecracker, Secure Intel, and Most Wanted. Safecracker will be your most consistent method of earning money in Warzone 2.0, and it also drops some beefy weapons as a completion reward! So if you find yourself strapped for cash and weapons, you heard it here first.

6 Interrogate Them

A new feature of Warzone 2.0 is the ability to interrogate enemies after you down them. By doing so, the position of all of their teammates will be revealed, placing them at a significant disadvantage! But doing so isn't quite as cut and dry as it may seem.

Before you decide to get all up in their grill, make absolutely certain that you are safe. Interrogating an opponent will trigger a long animation, making you extremely vulnerable to attacks. Knowing when to interrogate and when to simply finish the job is vital to survival in Warzone, so play it smart.

5 Pre-Game Prep

Although not as easily obtainable as in the original Warzone, creating a custom loadout is still ridiculously important in the sequel. Make certain that you have a few custom classes available for you to choose from in the event you obtain a loadout drop, because having weapons you are familiar with will put you at an extreme advantage.

Loadouts can be obtained through a multitude of ways including loadout drops, Strongholds, and, to an extent, buy stations. In the case of buy stations, players will be able to purchase only a single gun at a time - the primary weapon of any custom class they've created. Doing so will set you back a hefty $2,500 so weigh your options carefully.

4 Practice Makes Perfect

At the end of the day, the best way to get better at Warzone is through putting in the work. Unfortunately, Battle Royale doesn't provide too much action, meaning improvement in firefights comes slowly. This is where Modern Warfare 2 and DMZ come in.

If you have the base game purchased, play multiplayer to get the feel of the guns and gameflow with much more action. Or, for a game-feel that's a bit more similar to Battle Royale, brush up on your skills in DMZ. DMZ will allow you to get used to Al Mazrah, and provide much more action to practice with.

3 Loot Fast, Die Hard

Shiny loot is tempting, and one of the most common mistakes that newer players make is spending far too much time looking for it! Whether it be from backpacks or the ground, learning when to loot (and how to do it fast) is vital. Looting improperly puts players at significant risk, and the last thing you want is to get shot at while you're unnecessarily messing with your inventory!

Changing your interaction settings in-game so you aren't forced to hold the loot button down will allow you to pick up items much faster, so the adjustment is highly recommended! More importantly, though, players must be careful not to loot backpacks during fights unless it is absolutely safe, or entirely necessary. Learn what loot you prefer, and be decisive.

2 Superior Settings

One of the single most important tips for upping your game in Warzone 2.0 is altering your settings for maximum efficiency. Selecting the best settings possible will make a tremendous impact on your ability to compete, and it can even help your game run smoother!

Luckily, DualShockers has you covered with an extensive guide on the best settings for both controllers, and mouse and keyboard players! While following these recommendations to the T is not a bad idea, make sure to also take into account personal preference! Find which settings work best for you and stick with them.

1 Gulag 2.0

gulag-warzone-2

Warzone 2.0 also introduced an entirely new Gulag system, swapping the classic 1v1 formula for a more balanced 2v2 gunfight. The new Gulag also introduced the Jailer, a new incentive for players to either fight faster or work together! Victory in the Gulag is vital for victory in Al Mazrah!

In the Gulag, be sure to play it smart. Keep your head cool and play it like you would any other firefight, and you should be just fine. If the odds aren't looking in your favor, go ahead and encourage the opposing team to eliminate the Jailer! And be sure to be on the lookout for those beautiful 3-plate armor vests. A full in-depth guide to emerging victorious from the Gulag can be found here.
