Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 might be the hot topic among shooter fans at the minute thanks to its stellar campaign and on-brand multiplayer suite, but the conversation will soon turn towards Warzone 2.0, which releases next week. But how much space will Warzone 2.0 take up once pre-loading starts? Lots, apparently.

The reliable Twitter user @ALumia_Italia has once again leaked some interesting information pulled from the Xbox store, namely the download size for Warzone 2.0. If you're already tight on space, it's about to get a lot tighter, as Warzone 2.0 will allegedly take up 115.62GB of space when it releases on November 16th.

If you know you're going to be spending a lot of time in Warzone 2.0, it may be worth going through your library now ahead of release to purge those lesser-played space-wasters that are sitting on your hard drive.

Bear in mind, if you already own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and have it installed on your console of choice, the download may not be the full 115GB. Due to the way Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 share files and assets, this could be a smaller download for those with Modern Warfare 2 already installed, but a far larger install for those without, as they would have to download the Warzone 2.0 files and the Modern Warfare 2 files necessary to play.

Warzone 2.0 will kick off with its first season on November 16th, 2022 - the same date that Season 1 begins on Modern Warfare 2. It's no coincidence, either, as players who buy into the premium Battle Pass will carry the progression and rewards across both Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 without having to buy separate Battle Passes.

Pre-loading for Warzone 2.0 will be available from 10am PT / 1pm ET/ 6pm GMT / 7pm CEST on November 14th on PC and console, so there's plenty of time to get those gigabytes downloaded before everybody piles on to try out all of the new stuff on release day.
