The release date for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 may have been leaked via an internal document from Activision. According to the document, the new Warzone experience will launch on November 16th, which is less than 3 weeks after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

When the original Warzone was first released back in 2020, it came almost five months after the release of 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. But, if the leaked file actually turns out to be legitimate, fans won't have to wait as long this time around.

As reported via CharliteIntel, a new document which reportedly comes internally from Activision has shared multiple release dates, including dates related to World of Warcraft and Call of Duty. Of course, the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has already been revealed for October 28th, but the exact launch date of Warzone 2 was still a mystery.

The leaked file states that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be launching on Wednesday, November 16th 2022. This would make sense considering new seasons of Call of Duty are always released on a Wednesday. Although not detailed in the file, fans can likely expect the first season of Modern Warfare 2 x Warzone 2 to arrive on the same date.

This date has yet to be confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward, but with a special 'Call of Duty: Next' showcase set for September 15th, more details will likely be shared then. The event will reportedly be an "era-definding franchise event showcasing the immediate future of Call of Duty". Activision also states that the event will include details on Modern Warfare 2, information on the next Call of Duty: Warzone, and more on the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone. A full multiplayer reveal of Modern Warfare 2 will also be shared at the event, with the Open Beta beginning the next day for PlayStation users.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 28th 2022.
