Warzone Amax & Fara Nerf - Will it be Reverted, What's Changed?
Here is all you need to know about the Amax and Fara nerf.
Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War have been receiving a number of significant updates in the past few days. The Season 3 Reloaded went live just a few days ago, and that added quite a number of new features to the game.

Apart from the addition of a few new game modes, quite notable of all was the all new ‘80s Action Heroes event. There were a few new weapons added as well, such as the Baseball Bat, AMP63 machine pistol. After the major update, Respawn has been releasing a number of smaller updates, deploying fixes and making some playlist changes.
Today, a new in-game settings update was deployed which nerfed the Amax and buffed the Fara. Here is what Respawn had to say about the update:
“The CR-56 AMAX has continued to display disproportionate levels of dominance over the long-range Assault Rifle space. As we continue our efforts to slowly raise the Time to Kill, we feel the best course of action here is to reduce the power level of outliers rather than increase others to meet it. We believe it will take some time to adjust to a landscape where the CR-56 AMAX is not the undisputed king of long-range automatic weapons, but we feel this will be a net positive given how many more weapons we expect to be introduced into viability with this update. Our hope is that this change will present players with an opportunity to showcase and expand their mastery over a multitude of weapons that had been outclassed by the CR-56 AMAX.”
Amax’s close-range headshot damage has been reduced from 56 to 52 while the far-range headshot damage has been reduced from 49 to 46. This is the second time the gun has been nerfed, as it was tweaked earlier this month as well.
As far as the Fara is concerned, its recoil has been made easier to control at long range but hip range has been increased to make it less effective at close quarters. This should make it a more viable long-range weapon.
The AMAX nerf didn’t go down quite well the community and many fans are quite unhappy about it. Previously, the Agency Suppressor was also nerfed by the developers but the community’s feedback made them rollback the update. It remains to be seen whether the same incident is repeated, but is a bit unlikely this time around since some players believe that the nerf has balanced the weapon pretty well.
