There's only one week remaining until Season 5 kicks off in both Warzone and Cold War and fans are eager for a massive season.

With so much competition in the FPS genre at the minute, the Call of Duty developers have got all eyes on them to see if they can pull something big out of the bag for the next few seasons.

Titles like Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 are expected to be huge successes in the FPS community later this year. Whilst Splitgate, which is still currently in Beta, is dominating in terms of popularity.

Of course, Warzone has much bigger issues than including new content at the moment. Fans, streamers, and generally every Call of Duty fan alive has been begging Raven Software to implement an anti-cheat program after the Battle Royale has been taken over by hackers and cheaters.

We've all got our fingers crossed that a proper anti-cheat system is on the way, but until it actually happens, here's what fans can likely expect from the next season of Call of Duty.

When Is Season 5 Of Warzone & Cold War?

Season 5 kicks off in both Warzone and Cold War in just one week. To be exact, Thursday, August 5th at 12AM ET and 5AM BST.

Players can expect the patch to be available for pre-load roughly 24 hours before the new season releases.

Rumors, Leaks and Predictions

The upcoming season of Call of Duty is expected to be heavily influenced by Japanese culture. We've already got our first look at one of the new operators joining Cold War and Warzone, Kitsune.

Players can also expect plenty of other operators to be available in the Season 5 Battle Pass too.

As for new weapons, in the official promotional image for Season 5, we can see Kitsune holding a pair of Akimbo TEC-9 pistols. This almost practically confirms the TEC-9 will be a new weapon at some point in the season. It is however currently unknown if they will release at the beginning of the season or as part of the Season 5 Reloaded update.

Going off of previous season launches, players usually receive at least 3 or 4 weapons per season, so expect more than just the TEC-9.

There are also rumors that multiple map remasters will arrive for Cold War Multiplayer. Most notably being Summit, Slums, and Drive-in. It's worth noting that Summit from Black Ops 2 will be returning in two different ways. The remastered map is expected to arrive as a 6v6 map in Cold War Multiplayer, but also as a new region in the popular Zombies mode, Outbreak.

Speaking of Zombies, Treyarch Studios have also started to tease the arrival of Lightning Links, a new field upgrade for Cold War Zombies. The upcoming field upgrade was previously leaked and is expected to make its debut sometime in Season 5. What exactly it does, still remains a mystery.

As for Warzone specifics, nobody really knows what's in store for the massive Battle Royale apart from one thing. DualShocker's very own Tom Henderson has confirmed that a reveal event will take place inside of Warzone for 2021's Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The event is expected to be similar to the Cold War reveal event that took place back in 2020. Check out more details about the Vanguard reveal event at the link below, and stay tuned for more Warzone and Cold War Season 5 details during the week.
