The release of Call of Duty: Vanguard is right around the corner, and that means big changes are coming to Warzone. One of the many changes recently announced was the freezing of the Regiments social feature in Warzone.

For some, this might not be that much of a big deal, but for those who enjoy dropping into Verdansk with a group of friends, you'll want to know why the Regiments feature is being frozen in Warzone.

What Are Regiments In Warzone?

Regiments is a feature that has been in most Call of Duty titles, just usually under a different name.

In both Modern Warfare and Warzone, Regiments are a social feature that allow you to create a clan with your friends. This offers various benefits such as 'Happy Hour' which gives you and your team Double XP for a set hour every day.

Plus, Regiments allows you to play competitively against other teams and even change the color of your clan tag.

Creating a Regiment is incredibly straightforward, just head into either Modern Warfare Multiplayer or Warzone, navigate to the Social Menu then to the Regiments tab. From here you can create your very own Regiment and invite your friends.

Unfortunately though, this feature won't be around for much longer.

Why Is Warzone Removing Regiments?

According to a Call of Duty blog post for Season 6 of Warzone and Cold War, the Regiments feature is set to be frozen when the latest season goes live on October 7th.

Once Season 6 goes live in Warzone this Thursday, players will no longer be able to create Regiments with friends and will instead only be able to view your Regiment Roster and inspect players.

This also means no more Happy Hour rewards! But why are Raven Software removing the popular feature?

Well, it's reportedly to make way for a new 'Clan-based' system arriving in Warzone with the Vanguard integration later this year. Exactly how the new clan system will work has yet to be detailed.

Fans can expect plenty more changes to arrive in Warzone when Vanguard releases this November, as Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games work to seamlessly combine the two games.

More details on Season 6 and the removal of Regiments can be found at the official Call of Duty website.
