UPDATE: Since publishing this article, Playtest Cloud has reached out to DualShockers to clarify some details surrounding the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile leak. We have updated this article with their response.

Call of Duty fans are gearing up for the release of Vanguard Season One and the new Caldera Pacific Map in Warzone, but more content could soon be on the way, this time on your mobile device.

A mobile version of Activision's massive Battle Royale title has been rumoured for some time now, with previous leaks suggesting that Call of Duty: Mobile would be receiving Verdansk as a playable map.

But it looks like new speculation has come about that suggests a completely separate game to Call of Duty: Mobile is in the works titled 'Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile'.

Insider Says Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Coming In 2022

UPDATE: Playtest Cloud has since reached out to DualShockers to clarify that this is a "false alarm", you can find their full statement below.

"This was a false alarm, the list of games in our signup form has no connection to any games tested on PlaytestCloud. Additionally, as this game hasn’t been confirmed to exist yet, we’ve removed it from the database. While we’re also eagerly awaiting future Call of Duty games, we unfortunately don’t have any information about upcoming titles."

ORIGINAL STORY: According to industry insider Tom Henderson, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is scoped for a 2022 release date. The news comes after a playtest version was uploaded to the Playtest Cloud database, which was first spotted by Just4Leaks.

Unfortunately, that's about all of the details that have emerged on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. A more specific release date wasn't given by Henderson, but it's likely to still be some time away.

It's possible that it's scheduled to release alongside Call of Duty 2022, which is rumoured to be a sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare. But at the same time, would Activision really want a huge mobile release to clash with their yearly Call of Duty launch?

There has also been speculation that Activision is discussing the possibility of ditching the annual release schedule for Call of Duty. Although this seems unlikely given that a new Call of Duty title has been released every year since Call of Duty 2 in 2005.

Of course, take all this information with a grain of salt, as plans change internally before release all the time. But let us know in the comments, would you be interested in seeing a mobile version of Warzone?
