Raven Software shared very minimal details about the reasoning why they added a playlist update today, other than the fact that they “wanted to spice it [Monday] up a bit!”
Unfortunately, the company haven’t given any indication of whether or not Thursday’s usual update will be proceeding as per usual either.

Today’s playlist update sees the return of Rebirth Island Resurgence Quads.

What is Rebirth Island Resurgence Quads Coming in the May 10 Warzone Playlist Update?
Rebirth Island Resurgence Quads is much like most game modes in Warzone and of course, sees players fight to become the last team standing.
The difference between Rebirth Island Resurgence Quads and other Warzone modes, however, is the fact that it’s played on the much smaller Rebirth Island.
This causes games to become much more frantic and fast-paced as players are forced to face each other much earlier on in the game.
Players most recently enjoyed this game mode as part of the Warzone nuke event, which saw the original Verdansk, and its Zombie inhabitants, obliterated, spawning the birth of the brand new (old) Verdansk ’84.
