Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone is only a matter of weeks away, and fans have been hopeful that the beginning of a new year means we'll finally have Warzone removed from the Modern Warfare app.

As Warzone is completely free-to-play, it would make sense for it to be a completely standalone app, instead of being bundled with a 2-year-old title. Or, at the bare minimum, at least integrate the app into the latest Call of Duty title? Which this year would be Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Whilst Warzone is still integrated with Modern Warfare, it also means a next-gen version of the popular Battle Royale can't happen until the two are separated. Many fans were hopeful that the separation would occur with Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard, but a new leak has suggested that may not be the case.

Leak Suggests Warzone Won't Move To Call of Duty: Vanguard

Sebas4412, a Call of Duty leaker and data miner, has been digging through some of the Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard game files in an attempt to find out as much as possible surrounding the upcoming Warzone event and Vanguard integration.

During Sebas' deep dive, a look at the UI was discovered for the upcoming Vanguard integration. The UI, which can be seen below, has 'Vanguard Exclusive Early Access' in a yellow banner across various game modes. For those that don't know, Call of Duty: Vanguard owners will be able to play the new Warzone Pacific a day early.

As these game files were likely discovered inside of Warzone/Modern Warfare it likely means the two will stay integrated. If this wasn't the case, the UI files discovered wouldn't be there at all.

In Sebas' tweet sharing this information, they said that it "pretty much confirms that Warzone isn't separating anytime soon". Meaning that Warzone will be staying inside of the Modern Warfare app for a little longer, as opposed to being separated at the beginning of Season One on December 8th.

Of course, as always with leaks, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt. Plans are always changing behind the scenes, and game files don't always confirm what's going to take place in the future.

Make sure to let us know in the comments below, are you expecting Warzone to become a separate app soon? Or at least be moved into the Vanguard app?
