InXile Entertainment is now fully focused on developing their next project, which is a 9th-gen title powered by Unreal Engine 5. The team delivered Wasteland 3 later in August this year.Brian Fargo, head of InXile Entertainment, officially revealed during a recent tweet that the studio's next RPG project is in the infancy of pre-production. As revealed before, the new title from Wasteland 3 devs will be based on Microsoft's next-gen hardware family and is going to be built upon Unreal Engine 5.

After being acquired by Microsoft and joining the Xbox Game Studios family, this is going to be InXile's very first project that's fully funded by Microsoft. Besides, it will be their first time to focus completely on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S for delivering a Microsoft-ecosystem-exclusive game. Probably, we wouldn't get to know many details about InXile's next RPG as the game is still in the early stages of pre-production.

Wasteland 3, the latest title of the studios that was launched exactly a month earlier, experienced a very heartwarming welcome from fans and received mostly superb reviews from the critics, turning it into one of the best titles of the year, and probably the best in its genre so far.

After acquiring ZeniMax and all the studios operating under the wing of Bethesda, Microsoft now has a bunch of the world's most talented RPG-maker studios within the family. Currently, Playground Games is working on Fable, which is their very first experience in developing an RPG game. On the other hand, Obsidian Entertainment is also busy working on Avowed, a first-person RPG title set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity series.

The new studios from Bethesda are also hard at work for delivering Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI, two highly anticipated next-gen RPG titles that will be launched on Xbox Game Pass day one.
