Thanks to the Playstation Blog, gamers can now get a look at the lush and terrible settings of The Last of Us, with the “Wasteland Beautiful” developer diary below.

Not only does the latest developer diary show off the process of creating environments in the game, but it also shows the kind of work environment that Naughty Dog creates for its team when developing games.

In case you missed it, also check out the first of the series, “Hush,” which shows off a little more details on the Infected, and the thought that went into their creation.

The Last of Us is set to release to the PS3 on June 14, 2013. For another look at Naughty Dog’s creative process and goals, check DualShockers’ very own David Rodriguez and his interview with Naughty Dog’s Eric Monacelli at PAX East.

Masoud House

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
