For those of you that have been waiting for Divinity: Dragon Commander, the developers at Larian Studios have given us a lovely treat--a 27 minute beta gameplay video showcasing one whole turn of combat. If that wasn't enough, they've also released 14 awesome screenshots of the game in the gallery below the article. Dragon Commander will be released for PC on August 6th.

The trailer starts off with a strict (and shrill) instructor who introduces you to the basic concepts and battle system in Dragon Commander while doing her best impression of your third grade math teacher. After that's over with, we get to see a really cool feature of the game, which is how your actions and dialogue choices affect popularity among the different races aboard the military Capital ship, the Raven. It gets cooler as you can go around speaking with various people on the ship in randomly generated scenarios that further affects NPCs' perception of you.

Other features of Dragon Commander include the development of new technology to use in battle, the conquering of new territories for resources, manpower and technology and finally the actual combat which is half real time strategy and half third person action. You can choose which general goes into battle and on which front, with each general raising the chances of victory by a certain percentage. Your character can also become a dragon and choose a front to battle in personally. There's even more to this game then that but watching the video posted below is the best way to see for yourself.
