Watch a Swordsmith Make a Real Life Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII

Have you ever dreamt of wielding Cloud’s Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII? Now a working, sharp and massive real life version exists, but swinging it around could destroy your back.

Swordsmith and prop maker Tony Swatton loves to make weapons from movies, comics and games, and this time around he assembled a whole team to make the Buster Sword, then he called in a daredevil friend to smash things with it, starting with bottles, moving to a chocobo-lookalike piñata, and then even a table.

I can’t say I would like to find myself in the way of one of those swings, but considering that the sword weighs between 75 and 80 pounds, I doubt I’d like to be the one doing the swings as well.
