Watch a Star Citizen Developer Programming a Basketball Minigame in a Starship’s Hangar
Star Citizen players might get a way to stretch their limbs during long space flights.
CLoud Imperium Games showcased something rather interesting in a recent video, the first-pass implementation of a basketball minigame in Star Citizen.
The video showcases Technical Designer Calix Reneau as he takes an hour to create an early design for the minigame, right in the vast hangar of a Javelin Destroyer.
This gives us a really nice look on how this kind of work is done within the development tools of the CryEngine-derived Lumberyard engine.
It’s worth mentioning that this doesn’t mean that the feature will actually make it into the game. No promises were made, but it’s still a very interesting proof of concept.
You can check it out below, keeping in mind, as full disclosure, that the author of this post is one of the many backers of the game.
