The Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag developers discuss the open world of the upcoming game as they share their vision for the franchise in the second Black Flag diaries. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be released for North America on October 29th, for PS4 on November 15th, for Xbox One on November 22nd and for PC early 2014.
According to the developers, the team pushed the level and art design further in order to give players a vast open world. They want players to be able to explore fleshed out cities and towns, as well as have the option to reach the same target in many different ways. Plantations are an example of this because the designs allow players a wide range of freedom.
The various locales are very unique in layout, architecture and landscape. Ship battles will be a large part of the game and players will have the choice to keep the ship for your fleet, take some of the crew for your own or sink it for notoriety. Underwater exploration is another large part of the game and is primarily used for finding sunken ships and treasures.
