Gaymer X, the first LGBT gaming event, is going to have some unwelcome guests on their hands. Westboro Baptist Church is planning to protest the event aimed at gay gamers. The Huffington Post reported Westboro was planning on protesting the event just under a year ago. Earlier this week, Westboro Baptist Church renewed their pledge to protest the event via their Twitter (attached below, but be aware the Tweet contains graphic language).

For those outside of the United States, Westboro Baptist Church is an anti-gay “church” that most classify as a hate group. They became famous after beginning to picket United States military funerals. The “church” claimed God was punishing the United States through the war for abandoning Christian morals.

Gaymer X is scheduled to be held in San Fransisco August  3–4.  Ellen McLain (the voice of GLaDOS from Portal), is scheduled to appear at the event as well as other voice actors, writers, and game designers.
