What Are And How To Battle Fashion Challengers In Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO Fashion Week is here and with it has come the introduction of Fashion Challengers, who you must beat to finish some research.

Pokemon GO is consistently adding new content through its various events and the new Fashion Week event has introduced what are known as Fashion Challengers.

These play a key role in the Fashion Week Timed Research, which asks you to defeat some of them.

Fashion Week starts on Tuesday, September 21 at 10:00 am local time and runs through Tuesday, September 28 at 8:00 pm local time.

What Are Fashion Challengers?

While you can battle other trainers online in the GO Battle League or in-person, the idea of NPC trainers in the game has typically been exclusive to Team GO Rocket Grunts and Leaders.

The only time that Niantic experimented with this was the GO Tour Challengers from back during the GO Tour Kanto celebration earlier this year. These trainers were based on the teams of trainers that were actually submitted.

Fashion Challengers are similar to both Team GO Rocket members and the GO Tour Challengers, but they are created by Niantic for Fashion Week rather than based on real trainers like the latter.

How To Battle Fashion Challengers?

Just like with both Team GO Rocket members and the GO Tour Challengers, you will find Fashion Challengers at PokeStops.

These won't all of a sudden show up at every PokeStop, but rather will show up outside of the PokeStop like with the other types of NPC trainers in the game.

As part of the Fashion Week Timed Research, you'll have to battle nine total of these, so it's likely you'll see at least a few of these.

The Fashion Challengers will only be available for this week as well, so make sure to take them on while you have the chance in Pokemon GO.

There are six different types of Fashion Challengers in Pokemon GO too, which are known as Cool, Eccentric, Quirky, Rugged, Sassy, and Slick Challengers. You can check out what teams of Pokemon they will have below:
