What Changes For Bayonetta 3 With PlatinumGames' New President?
Will this affect Bayonetta 3?
PlatinumGames announced on January 13, 2022, that its current CEO Kenichi Sato will be stepping down and replaced by Atsushi Inaba, what kind of impact could the change have on Bayonetta 3?
Who is Atsushi Inaba at PlatinumGames?
Atsushi Inaba was born in 1971 in Ishikawa Prefecture and worked at several game studios before joining Capcom in 1998. He later became in 2004 the director of Clover Studio at Capcom, working as the producer of Okami.
In 2006 Inaba made his own company called SEEDS, and merged in 2007 with ODD to create PlatinumGames. Atsushi Inaba is one of the founders and veteran members of PlatinumGames.
Since then, Inaba worked on several PlatinumGames projects and was appointed as vice president a few years ago.
Meanwhile, Kenichi Sato isn’t completely leaving the company as he’ll say with an advisor role.

Will the CEO switch at PlatinumGames affect Bayonetta 3?
Bayonetta 3 has been in development for several years now and is planned to release in 2022. It’s likely the game is only a few details away from being gold. So it’s unlikely this CEO change will have any impact on the game.
Even more so seeing Atsushi Inaba was already deeply involved in Bayonetta‘s 3’s development like any other PlatinumGames franchise. He is the executive producer of the game.
Bayonetta 3 also keeps the main personalities behind the series, with Hideki Kamiya as executive director and Mari Shimazaki on the character design.
Personally speaking, I’d say PlatinumGames is in a weird spot lately. Nothing I’ve seen of Babylon’s Fall so far managed to sell me this game. And every 3D Beat ‘Em All fan is more apprehensive for Bayonetta 3 now that the king Devil May Cry came back with an amazing 5th entry.
Bayonetta 3 will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
