Who Is Miniladd?

Craig 'Miniladd' Thompson is an Irish-English YouTuber that currently resides in Dallas, Texas. The YouTuber has over five million subscribers on the platform, and before being banned on Twitch, had over seven hundred thousand followers.

Many fans may have discovered Miniladd through the popular YouTuber, Evan 'Vanoss' Fong. The two often collaborated in various videos with other friends, usually playing Gary's Mod or Fortnite.

What Did Miniladd Do?

During the summer of 2020, allegations were made against the YouTuber from two women, Halley and Ash. They stated that Miniladd had used his popularity to solicit inappropriate pictures from underage fans. Halley released various screenshots showing DM's from Miniladd that feature inappropriate conversations. She stated that the messages were sent when both she and Ash were 16 and 17 respectively. You can read the full accusations from Halley here.

In June of 2020, Miniladd addressed the situation and apologised to both women, admitting that the damning allegations were true.

In the final days of 2020, Miniladd uploaded a video to YouTube titled 'My Apology'. The video was in regard to the allegations made against him in June of 2020. The star has been radio silent since the video, with no YouTube videos or Twitch streams appearing since the apology video.

Now two months later, Twitch has banned Miniladd and removed his partner status, meaning this ban is likely permanent.

As of writing, there's no concrete reason for the ban but it's easy to imagine that the allegations are the reason behind it.

What Happens Next?

Twitch usually do not comment on streamers receiving bans, but due to the high profile of the streamer and the story, a spokesperson was contacted by esports journalist Rod Breslau and had this to say:

"We take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service."

Although this doesn't give the exact reason for the ban, it's possible that the ban is linked to the allegations the star faced back in 2020.

It's looking likely that the internet personality won't be returning to the streaming platform.
