Fans might be wondering about the mysterious artifact known as Scarab after watching the second episode of Moon Knight. Here's what you need to know about it.

The second episode of the long-awaited series, Moon Knight, dropped recently, and it was better than we all imagined. The new episode answered some questions for Steven, as well as for the fans, but raised some new ones as well. So far, the series is doing well enough to get itself on the list of best shows by Marvel this year.

Since the first episode, Moon Knight is keeping the focus on a shiny gold amulet known as Scarab, also mentioned as Beetle quite a few times. Initially, it wasn't clear why Arthur Harrow was so desperate to obtain the Scarab. But now, in the second episode, some dust has been cleared as to why Scarab is so important to Harrow. Obviously, the mysterious artifact has everything to do with Ammit, the Egyptian god whom Arthur worships.

Here's Everything About Scarab In Moon Knight And Why Ammit Needs It

Steven goes to his storage locker and discovers a bag with some shocking stuff inside it. This includes some illegal cash, a passport by the name Marc Spector, and the Scarab that Harrow wanted to obtain. Noticing the Scarab in the bag, Steven gets sure that everything happening to him is not some dream or hallucination; it's, in fact, real. And after turning on the Scarab, it starts to float in the air.

Later in the episode, when Arthur summons Steven, he asks for the Scarab. Arthur explains that the Scarab acts like a compass and tells them the directions to the Ammit's tomb. After finding Ammit's tomb, Harrow plans to evoke her once and for all so that she can judge the people and clear the earth from the evildoers. After a long fight with Arthur and the mysterious jackal he summoned, Steven still loses the Scarab, and Arthur finally gets access to it.

The Scarab doesn't just have a special place in the Marvel universe, but it is also a precious artifact of the Egyptian culture. In MCU, a villain named Kang the Conqueror uses three artifacts to time travel and rule the world. One of these artifacts was the Scarab. Khonshu somehow succeeds in transporting the three artifacts to his three avatars living in different times. Marc is then given the duty to collect all three relics.
