Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers from Stranger Things season 4

Stranger Things is getting better with every season, and the fourth season presents a much darker tone. With Demogorgons, things were quite scary, but it didn't feel like a big deal. Then came the Mind Flayer, which made the show more intense, but with Vecna in season four of Stranger Things, it feels like Satan has himself arrived at Hawkins.

Season four didn't just bring Venca as a surprise, but there's so much to the show that it's hard to keep a count of. One thing from the new season that's hard to ignore is the Grandfather Clock. We got the first glance of the antique clock in the new season's trailer, and now it seems to hold an important significance.

What Does Grandfather Clock In Stranger Things Season 4 Mean?

If you have watched the complete season four, part one of Stranger Things, then you don't have any doubt about the real identity of Vecna. Yes, the innocent-looking Henry Creel, the son of Victor Creel, is the real antagonist of the show. When the show takes us back to his childhood, the Grandfather Clock appears in his house multiple times. While giving an explanation to Eleven for his deeds, Henry says that humans are all similar, playing their parts in life and finally coming closer to their death. But he says that he chooses to make his own rules, after which he turns the clock, depicting that he will go beyond time, ruling the world forever (his end goal.) The fact that the time stops in the 'upside-down' makes this theory even stronger.

Now, you might wonder why Vecna's victims see the clock in their visions. Well, that's because Grandfather Clock is a kind of sign to tell the victims that it's finally time for them to join him. Every victim of Vecna sees the clock in their vision and dies within twenty-four hours of their first vision. Season four, part one of Stranger Things, ended, but it's still not fully clear what more Grandfather Clock has to do with Vecna. Multiple fan theories are going around, with some suggesting that it might be the ultimate portal for the upside-down. We guess we have to wait for part two to come to final closure.
