A Nintendo Switch port of developer Giant Sparrow and publisher Annapurna Interactive's surreal and emotional walking simulator What Remains of Edith Finch has been found listed on the Japanese Nintendo eShop and it looks set to drop next week, July 4. However, that hasn't been officially confirmed by Annapurna Interactive as yet, but it seems as though fans of the award-winning first-person exploration game should be able to play it on the hybrid-console earlier than expected.

In the listing, it states that What Remains of Edith Finch will release on Switch in Japan for ¥2,200, which is around $20 USD and requires a 2.2 GB download. The Japanese version features English language support, so while we don't have any confirmation of a western release heading our way at the moment, it's expected that it'll launch on western eShops too.

If you have yet to partake in the strange yet intriguing adventure of What Remains of Edith Finch, here's some information from the games official description:

"What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of strange tales about a family in Washington state. As Edith, you’ll explore the colossal Finch house, searching for stories as she explores her family history and tries to figure out why she’s the last one in her family left alive. Each story you find lets you experience the life of a new family member on the day of their death, with stories ranging from the distant past to the present day."

Last year at the British Academy Games Awards, The Game of the Year award went to What Remains of Edith Finch which beat off stiff competition from the likes of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the title.

You can check out our review on the game right here where DualShockers features editor Ryan gave the title a remarkable 9/10.

We will, of course, keep you up to date with any further information regarding What Remains of Edith Finch's Nintendo Switch launch but as of right now, it looks like it will launch on July 4.
